An exclusive first look at a cool new nature photography bag

Hello Reader,

Eight years ago, I reviewed the FirstLight backpack from Think Tank. Since then, it's a bag I see nature photographers using everywhere I go.

A few months ago, Think Tank emailed me to let me know a new version would be released in April.

There was a long list of interesting updates. And, as usual from Think Tank, a couple of features I had never seen on a camera bag before.

"Would you like to test it out before the launch?"

You bet!!

I have used the brand new FirstLight Plus backpack sneaky-sneaky-style for the past two months. My in-depth review is now online.

Also, a huge thanks to those who offered their help and location advice for my trip to Tasmania after I sent my packing list last week. I'm so grateful for this growing community.

Cheers and happy shooting,

Dan

Now, they have launched a unique new product that combines those tried and tested products with a sling bag to carry additional gear. I tested it out and compared it to the brand's existing products. We stayed in a beautiful mountain lodge, ate great food, made new friends, and shot thousands and thousands of photos. It was such a blast that we're doing it again in June, and we still have a couple of spaces available. A stunning male calliope hummingbird from last year's workshop. A female...

Sony 300mm f/2.8 = 1.4x Teleconverter Hello Reader, I have owned the Sony 300mm f/2.8 GM lens for around 12 months. It sits on my shelf amongst my other Sony, Canon, Nikon, and Fujifilm lenses, giving me a great perspective on its performance. This is a lens designed for sports and wildlife photographers. And yet, nobody would say 300mm is enough focal length for serious shooting of either genre. Why the dichotomy? Focal length flexibility is the key. With teleconverters, you have: 300mm...
