Peak Design Pro Tripod review completed (with a bear)

Hello Reader,

You may recall that Peak Design provided me with their entire new range of Pro tripods on loan. After testing them over the past month, I have now published my comprehensive review.

>> Peak Design Pro Tripod Review

My review covers comparisons of all three models, a thorough examination of the available optional accessories, and a comparison with the brand’s hugely popular Travel Tripod.

Peak Design is known for creating thoughtfully designed products, so it’s no surprise that the new Pro lineup has a lot to offer. However, I do have a few reservations. Whether this investment is right for you ultimately hinges on one key factor, which I discuss in detail in my concluding remarks and the preceding section on value.

I hope you take a look, and I trust you'll find it helpful and interesting. As I send this email, the tripods are not yet available, but can be pre-ordered here.

Once again, the review link >> Peak Design Pro Tripod Review

Cheers,

Dan Carr

I'll just leave this little clue here. Hello Reader, I recently published a review of a unique camera bag that includes a feature photographers have been asking for for years. Honestly, I always assumed some other company must hold a patent on this feature, and that’s what was preventing camera bag brands from using it. I guess I was wrong! What's more, for the next few hours, you can save 25% when you pre-order this bag. Check out the new Cotton Carrier Hyker 25L review here. Or jump right...

I didn't have this on my 2025 bingo card, but here we are. Hello Reader, Firstly, I hope my US readers had a wonderful Thanksgiving yesterday! I have, of course, updated my annual list of the Best Black Friday Deals for Photographers. There's good stuff on there. Now that the housekeeping is out of the way, let me explain the subject line of the email. Long-time readers or social media followers may remember that, in addition to my photography business, leading workshops, and writing content...

Hello Reader, A couple of months ago I emailed about the outrageously good teleconverter performance of the Sony 300mm GM lens. Knowing how much I enjoy using this lens compared to my 600mm f/4, it got me thinking: should I buy a second one? I know that sounds crazy, but a pair of them would be lighter and cheaper than a 600mm f/4 lens, and using the teleconverters would give me nice combinations of 300mm, 420mm, and 600mm focal lengths. I decided to pull on this thread a little more, so...
